XREAL 1 Pro+ is out: brighter than the One Pro, same $599
XREAL's 1 Pro+ launched October 15 at $599, the same price as the One Pro. Here's what's new, what's the same and what it means if you own or want a One Pro.
XREAL has a new top pair. The XREAL 1 Pro+ went on sale on October 15, 2026, for $599 in the US. That's the same price as the One Pro, which XREAL still sells. So which one should you get, and should One Pro owners care? Here's what changed.
What's new
- Much brighter. XREAL rates the 1 Pro+ at up to 1,200 nits. Its own comparison lists the One Pro at 700.
- AI HDR. A new picture setting with Standard, Movie and Reading modes. Road to VR notes the One Pro didn't have it at launch.
- Smoother 3D. The glasses can turn regular 2D video and games into 3D. Road to VR reports that now runs at 60 fps, up from 30.
- A new nose pad. MIXED says it has a larger contact area. XREAL says it holds the glasses steadier and keeps the whole picture in view.
What's the same
Almost everything else. Both pairs use Sony micro-OLED screens at 1920×1080 per eye, up to 120Hz. Both have a 57° field of view, XREAL's X1 chip with 3DoF tracking, Bose-tuned speakers and lenses that dim. Both come in two sizes for different eye spacing: 57 to 66 mm and 66 to 75 mm.
Neither has a battery or a computer of its own. Like the One Pro, the 1 Pro+ runs off whatever you plug it into over USB-C.
The fine print on brightness
That 1,200-nit number comes with conditions. XREAL's spec sheet calls it the maximum perceived brightness, measured in Follow mode with the Stabilizer off and AI HDR on. It's a peak, not what you'll see all the time.
Your display mode changes your options too. Follow mode with the Stabilizer off gives you 14 brightness levels. Pin the screen in Anchor mode and you get 10.
One more gap: XREAL doesn't publish a weight for the 1 Pro+. The One Pro weighs 87 g.
What this means for you
You own a One Pro. There's no rush. The screens, field of view, chip and tracking haven't changed. The upgrade is mostly brightness and smoother 3D. If your One Pro looks bright enough to you, keep it.
You're buying one now. On paper, the 1 Pro+ gives you more for the same $599. XREAL still lists the One Pro at $599, with $649 crossed out. We haven't tried either pair yet, so that's a spec call, not a verdict.
You wear glasses. Order lenses for the right model. XREAL sells separate lenses for the 1 Pro+, and its order page lists -10.00 to +4.00 with astigmatism. That's the same range as the One Pro's. MIXED reports they cost $49.90 to $69.90. Our One Pro prescription guide walks through ordering.
You want 6DoF. The XREAL Eye camera adds it to both pairs, so the screen stays fixed in your room. MIXED lists it at $99 on its own. Here's what else is worth adding.
You're fixing a problem. Our screen drift fix and black screen fix follow XREAL's guides for the One series. XREAL documents the 1 Pro+ separately, so menu names may differ.
Does it work with your gear?
