Which Galaxy phones work with AR glasses? Plus the DeX trick
Galaxy S24, S25 and S26 phones run AR glasses over USB-C. So do the Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, but not the Flip7 FE. Here's the list, DeX tips and our picks.
Galaxy phones and AR glasses are a great match. Plug in and you can mirror your phone onto a giant screen. Or switch to DeX, Samsung's desktop mode, and get windows, a taskbar and room to work. All from the phone in your pocket.
The quick list
Samsung lists these phones for DeX over a USB-C cable. That's the same USB-C video output your glasses need.
- Galaxy S26, S25 and S24 series. Every model, Plus and Ultra included. Older S phones back to the S8 are on the list too.
- Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra.
- Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Flip8.
These aren't on it:
- Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. Same family, but Samsung says it can't run DeX over a cable.
- Flips older than the Z Flip7. Samsung says the same about these.
- Most Galaxy A phones. The only A phone on Samsung's list is the old A90 5G.
Not sure which model you have? Look in Settings, under About phone. Then check it in our compatibility checker.
Glasses confirmed for Galaxy
Here's every pair confirmed for the Galaxy S25 series. The S24 list matches it.

Other models differ a little:
- S26 series. VITURE and XREAL confirm it. RayNeo's list stops at the S25 for now, so our checker marks the Air 4 Pro "should work" until RayNeo or our own testing confirms it.
- Z Fold7 and Z Flip7. Only VITURE names these so far. XREAL's list only covers the S series.
- Z Fold8 and Z Flip8. They're on Samsung's DeX list, but no glasses maker names them yet. Expect "should work" there too.
Mirror or DeX?
Plug in and you'll get one of two views.
Mirror shows your phone screen just as it is. It's perfect for video. Turn the phone sideways so the picture fills more of your view.
DeX turns the glasses into a desktop. Apps open in windows you can resize, like on a laptop. Pair a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and you've got a pocket workstation.
Here's how Samsung says to start DeX:
- Connect your glasses and unlock your phone.
- The first time, tap Start on the pop-up.
- No pop-up? Swipe down with two fingers and tap DeX in Quick settings.
- Still mirroring? Open the notification panel, tap the Samsung DeX notification, then tap Samsung DeX.
One more trick. XREAL says its 21:9 UltraWide mode works in DeX on Samsung phones with no extra setup. That's a seriously wide desktop from a phone.
Our pick for DeX: XREAL 1S
XREAL confirms the 1S for Galaxy S phones, and it pairs really well with DeX. Its 1920×1200 screens give you a taller desktop than most glasses. Its 3DoF tracking runs on the glasses, so you can pin your desktop in place without an app. And 21:9 UltraWide is built in.
Skip it if you have a foldable. XREAL doesn't name the Fold or Flip yet.

VITURE has the widest Galaxy list of any brand here. It names every S24, S25 and S26 model, plus the Z Fold7 and Z Flip7. The Luma Pro is the all-rounder of the line, with 1920×1200 screens and HARMAN audio. Its dials also correct nearsightedness up to -4.00.
Skip it if you want the screen pinned in place without an app. Its 3DoF runs in VITURE's SpaceWalker app, not on the glasses. For built-in 3DoF, VITURE's flagship Beast covers the same Galaxy phones.

For shows and YouTube, the Air 4 Pro is plenty. It's bright, rated at up to 1,200 nits, and RayNeo names both the Galaxy S24 and S25 series. Its screen stays fixed in the middle of your view, since it has no head tracking.
Skip it if you want DeX for real work. Without tracking, you can't pin your desktop in place. Our RayNeo Air 4 Pro vs XREAL 1S comparison breaks down what you give up.
Before you plug in
- Watch your battery. Most AR glasses have no battery, so they run off your phone. In Android Authority's testing, the Air 4 Pro used 20% of a Pixel 9 Pro's battery in under an hour. That was a Pixel, but the idea is the same.
- Check your case. A chunky case can stop the plug from going all the way in.

- Switching to a Pixel? Pixel 8 and newer phones have their own desktop mode now. Here's how to use it with AR glasses.
