Wear glasses? Your prescription options for the VITURE Beast
The VITURE Beast has no focus dials. Here's how its clip-in prescription frame works, what it covers, what it costs and what to have ready.
Can you use AR glasses if you already wear glasses? It's the first thing a lot of people ask. With the VITURE Beast, the answer is yes. It just works a little differently from VITURE's other models.
The short answer
The Beast has no focus dials. If you need glasses to see a screen clearly, you'll want VITURE's prescription frame, with lenses made to your exact prescription. It clips onto the Beast and covers nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Contacts work fine too.
Why there are no dials
Most VITURE glasses let you twist a dial to correct nearsightedness. The Beast doesn't. VITURE says it dropped the dials because the Beast's 3DoF tracking is built into the hardware. That's the trade-off for a screen that stays put without an app.
For comparison, here's how far the dials go on other VITURE models:
- VITURE Luma: up to -6.00
- VITURE Pro 2: up to -5.00
- VITURE Luma Pro and Luma Ultra: up to -4.00
Dials only correct nearsightedness. They don't fix astigmatism on any of these models.
The prescription frame
VITURE sells the Beast Prescription Lens Frame with lenses made to order. It snaps onto the Beast at the nose bridge. Here's what VITURE's order page says it covers:
| What | Range |
|---|---|
| Sphere (SPH) | -16.00 to +12.00 |
| Cylinder (CYL) | -6.00 to +6.00 |
| Axis | 1 to 180 |
| Pupillary distance (PD) | 46 to 80 mm |
You can pick standard lenses or blue light blocking ones, in a 1.67 or 1.74 index. A higher index means a thinner lens, which helps with strong prescriptions.
When we checked on November 2, 2026, the frame with lenses cost $79 at VITURE's store. VITURE says the lenses take about 2 to 5 business days to make before they ship.
What to have ready
Grab your most recent prescription before you order. You'll enter these numbers for each eye:
- SPH is your main correction. A minus number means nearsighted. A plus number means farsighted.
- CYL and Axis are your astigmatism numbers. No CYL on your prescription? Then there's no astigmatism to correct.
- PD is the distance between your pupils, in millimeters. It's often printed on your prescription. If it isn't, your optician can measure it. VITURE lets you enter a separate PD for each eye.
Who this won't work for
- Progressive or bifocal wearers. The lenses are single vision only. VITURE suggests entering your distance prescription and leaving the ADD part blank.
- Prescriptions with prism. VITURE asks you to email its support team before you order, so it can review your prescription first.
- Anyone hoping to return them. Custom lenses can't be returned or exchanged. Double-check every number before you pay.
Is the Beast the right pick if you wear glasses?
It depends on your prescription.
- Mild nearsightedness, no astigmatism: a Luma could save you the frame. Its dials reach -6.00.
- Astigmatism or a strong prescription: you'll need custom lenses on most glasses anyway, so the Beast's frame is no extra hassle.
- Farsighted: dials can't help you, so you'll need lenses whichever glasses you buy.

Where the Beast shines
It's our biggest-screen pick for both the Steam Deck and the iPhone. It also works with Switch 2 through a dock. Here's how that setup works, and here are the Beast accessories worth adding.
