Wear glasses? The Aura makes room for your prescription. Every box includes an Optical Insert Frame, an empty frame that fits inside the glasses. You can fill it with XREAL's lenses or have a local optician fill it. Or skip it and wear contacts.

The short answer

Most people should order XREAL's Aura lenses. They take nearsighted, farsighted and astigmatism prescriptions, and they start at $49.90 on sale. Order early, since delivery takes about two weeks. Outside XREAL's range? Ask an optician about filling the frame, or wear contacts.

What XREAL's lenses cover

These are the ranges on XREAL's US order page for the Aura:

WhatRange
Sphere (SPH)-10.00 to +4.00
Cylinder (CYL)-5.00 to +5.00
Axis0 to 180
Pupillary distance (PD)One number, or one for each eye

You also choose the lens material and coating. There's a 1.60 lens or a thinner 1.67, each in standard or blue light blocking.

Price and timing

Here's what XREAL's US store listed on November 3, 2026:

LensSale priceRegular price
1.60, standard$49.90$149.90
1.60, blue light blocking$59.90$159.90
1.67, standard$59.90$159.90
1.67, blue light blocking$69.90$169.90

Shipping is free. XREAL says a partner makes the lenses in 1 to 4 business days and ships them from China, so delivery takes about 10 business days. They come with a 1-year warranty.

The Aura itself ships in batches from mid-November. Order lenses now, and they could land around the same time as your glasses.

Or take the frame to an optician

You don't have to buy XREAL's lenses. XREAL's manual says you can take the empty frame to a professional optician and have lenses cut for it. That's the route to ask about if XREAL's order form doesn't fit your prescription.

XREAL does recommend its own lenses first. It says they're made for the Aura, with tighter quality control on optics and fit. For a list of authorized lens partners, contact XREAL support.

Before you order

XREAL's form wants three numbers per eye, plus your PD. Lay your prescription next to the screen and fill it in line by line.

  • Right eye goes first. The form lists OD, your right eye, then OS, your left.
  • Minus or plus? A minus sphere means nearsighted. A plus means farsighted. One flipped sign gets you lenses you can't send back.
  • CYL and Axis travel together. If your prescription has a CYL number, it has an Axis too. No CYL? Leave CYL at 0.00.
  • PD can be one number or two. Look on your prescription first. Your optician can tell you if it's missing.
  • Stay on the Aura's page. XREAL sells separate lenses for each of its glasses.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Stronger prescriptions. Past -10.00 or above +4.00, XREAL's lenses won't cover you. Try an optician with the included frame, or contacts.
  • Prism or progressives. The form has no prism or ADD fields, so plan on single-vision lenses.
  • Anyone unsure of their numbers. XREAL only takes these lenses back for quality problems. An out-of-date prescription isn't one.

How the Aura compares

XREAL One ProXREAL custom lenses-10.00 to +4.00$59.90

The URXR One's lenses cover a much wider range. The Aura has two things going for it. The frame is in the box, and a local optician can fill it. Here's how URXR One lenses work, and our One Pro prescription guide if you're weighing XREAL's tethered glasses.

Once your lenses arrive

  1. Peel any protective film off the glasses.
  2. Fit your lenses into the frame, then push the frame into the slot on the inside of the glasses until it sits firmly.
  3. Put the glasses on and look at the edges of the screen.

Edges blurry or doubled? Check the size mark inside the right arm. M fits an IPD of 60 to 66 mm, and L fits 66 to 72 mm. Then fine-tune it in Settings, under Tips & Support, then Fit adjustment. Trying a different nose pad can help too. Our Aura setup checklist walks through the fit.

Clean both the inner and outer lenses with the cloth in the box.

Note

We haven't ordered Aura lenses yet. When we do, this page gets our notes on fit, clarity and how long delivery took.
