URXR One prescription lenses: HonsVR inserts, range and price
URXR One has no focus dials. Its official lenses are HonsVR's magnetic inserts, which take -15.00 to +15.00 and astigmatism. Here's how to order them right.
Wear glasses? The URXR One has no focus dials, so you'll want lenses made for it, or contacts. Unseen Reality picked one official lens partner, HonsVR. It already makes inserts for VR headsets and other AR glasses.
The short answer
Order HonsVR's URXR One inserts. They snap in with magnets, they're made to each eye's prescription, and they handle astigmatism. They cost $49.95 on sale when we checked. You order them from HonsVR, separately from the glasses.
What HonsVR's lenses cover
These are the ranges on HonsVR's order form for the URXR One:
| What | Range |
|---|---|
| Sphere (SPH) | -15.00 to +15.00 |
| Cylinder (CYL) | -8.00 to +8.00 |
| Axis | 0 to 180 |
| Pupillary distance (PD) | One number, or one for each eye |
That's far wider than XREAL's order forms, which stop at -10.00 and +4.00. There's also an optional blue light filter.
Which prescription to use
This part trips people up. The URXR One focuses at about 1.1 m, or 3.6 ft. HonsVR's advice:
- Single-vision glasses? Use your normal distance prescription.
- Progressives, bifocals or reading glasses? Use a single-vision prescription for about 1.1 m. If you don't have one, ask your eye doctor before you order.
HonsVR makes the lenses from the numbers you enter. It doesn't adjust anything for you.
Price and shipping
When we checked on November 3, 2026, HonsVR listed the inserts at $49.95, down from $69.95. You get one left and one right insert. Shipping is free worldwide for prescription lenses. Plano lenses, with no correction, don't get free shipping.
They aren't part of a Kickstarter pledge. Order straight from HonsVR, and they'll ship on their own, apart from your glasses. HonsVR opened orders on September 30, so they can arrive before your URXR One does.
Before you order
HonsVR's form is short: three dropdowns per eye and a PD box. It's still easy to slip, so check these:
- Right, then left. The form starts with Right / O.D., then Left / O.S. Paper prescriptions usually list them the same way.
- The sign is part of the number. HonsVR's form spells out that farsighted numbers carry a plus. A -2.50 entered as +2.50 makes a lens that blurs everything.
- Astigmatism means CYL plus Axis. Enter both, or leave CYL at 0 if your prescription has none.
- Separate PDs get their own boxes. Tick the option for separate values, then enter right and left.
- Pick the URXR One listing. HonsVR makes inserts for many headsets and glasses. Its URXR One listing says those inserts fit the URXR One only.
Check your IPD too
The URXR One fits more faces than most glasses because you adjust it by hand, from 58 to 68 mm. That's the spacing between your pupils, and the glasses set the gap between their two lenses to match.
Sitting just outside that range? Unseen Reality says the range is measured between the lenses' optical centers, centered on 63 mm. It says creators with IPDs up to 72 mm use the glasses comfortably, and its founder's is 72 mm. That's the company's word, so try them inside the 30-day return window if you're at either edge.
Who should look elsewhere
- Stronger prescriptions. Past -15.00 or +15.00, these inserts won't cover you. VITURE's Beast reaches -16.00. See our Beast prescription guide.
- Prism. HonsVR's form asks for SPH, CYL, Axis and PD. There's no field for prism.
- Anyone who'd rather see the room directly. The URXR One shows the world through cameras. If that bothers you, the XREAL Aura is see-through. Here are the Aura's lens options.
Contacts are the other easy route. With contacts, you can skip inserts entirely.
How it compares
| Glasses | Official lenses | Sphere range | Price when we checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| URXR One | HonsVR magnetic inserts | -15.00 to +15.00 | $49.95 |
| XREAL Aura | XREAL lenses for the included frame | -10.00 to +4.00 | From $49.90 |
Both take astigmatism. The URXR One's inserts cover more prescriptions. The Aura comes with a frame in the box that a local optician can fill too.
Once your lenses arrive
The magnets make swapping easy. Pop the inserts out before a friend tries your glasses, and they'll see the screen with their own eyes. HonsVR notes that taking them out also makes cleaning easier.
